See Why Your Dog Will Love the 2019 Honda Fit

Great news for dog lovers, the 2019 Honda Fit is one of the best vehicles for transporting Spot, according to AutoTrader. The low step-in height, tall interior, and adjustable seats helped the Fit earn its spot on the list as the only subcompact passenger car. The class-leading 52.7 cubic feet of space with the second-row seats folded give you plenty of room for Fido’s cage and accessories.

AutoTrader looked at features that would keep your pup safe on a road trip, comfortable in the heat, and other dog-friendly features to create this list. Vehicles needed to have tinted glass to keep your dog shielded from the sun, rear-seat vents to provide airflow, a flat cargo floor to hold a dog crate, cargo tie-downs to secure accessories, and preferably a panoramic sunroof to provide air and light in the rear area.

The Honda Magic Seats offer versatility to transform your interior into just the kind of space you need. Fold down the rear seats for a flat cargo area that’s stable enough to hold large crates. Or you can fold down the front-passenger seat and one of the second-row seats in the 40/60 split for a long cargo option that’s great for hauling your dog’s agility-training materials like the teeter totter or weave posts. When you need tall cargo space, the second-row seat-benches flip up to give you more room on the floor.

Honda offers plenty of dog-friendly aftermarket accessories you can add to your 2019 Fit to keep it in good shape. The available seat covers help you protect your upholstery from muddy paws, and the cargo-area mats are easy to pull out and clean after a jog through the trails.
