2020 Honda Civic Si Gets a New Look and Enhanced Performance

By Justin Cupler | August 29th, 2019

The Honda Civic Si gives our Rochester area car buyers a great midway point between the standard Civic and the wild Type R. The 2020 Honda Civic Si will improve upon its excellence with revised looks in its sedan and coupe models, and a small boost to in-seat performance feel.

The Civic Si Coupe and Sedan share a handful of updates, including new fog light housings with flat surrounds and body-color crossbars, a revised “wing” grille crossbar, standard multi-element LED headlights, and LED fog lights. Rounding out the exterior updates on the Civic Si Coupe and Sedan are new matte-black 18-inch wheels.

The 2020 Civic Si Sedan gets a few exclusive updates with flat rear bumper inserts with body-color crossbars like the front end.

Inside, the 2020 Civic Si Coupe and Sedan get updated sport seats with red accents on the seatback and lower cushion, giving this sporty cabin a touch of color. Red trimming on the instrument panel and Active Sound Control that uses the audio system to enhance the engine sound complete the interior updates.

Under its hood, the Civic Si lineup will continue with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 205 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission will remain the only gearbox option, but it gains a 6% shorter final drive ratio for quicker-feeling acceleration.

The 2019 Civic Si lacks the advanced safety equipment the standard Civic includes, but that changes in the new model year. The 2020 Civic Si now includes standard Honda Sensing, which includes automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, road-departure mitigation, and more.

The 2020 Honda Civic Si will arrive for our Rochester, Henrietta, and Pittsford performance enthusiasts on Sept. 6, 2019. Pricing will start at $25,000 (excluding tax, license, registration, and $930 destination charge) for the coupe and sedan models. Adding summer tires will run an extra $200.
